Luxury beach house rentals SC — home base for Charleston charm
It’s beginning to feel a bit like fall, and it’s time to tour homes and gardens – ideally, while based in one of our luxury beach house rentals SC.
The peak season rates are a thing of the past for SC vacation rentals, and fall’s a great time to stay in a Charleston beach house.
This week marks the start of the 40th annual Fall Tours of Homes, History & Architecture, put on by the Preservation Society of Charleston.
Your chance to peek inside Charlestonian homes & gardens near our luxury beach house rentals SC …
All it takes is a stroll through the historic district, down some of the streets and alleyways that make Charleston the world’s favorite place to visit.
You’re walking down Meeting Street, Church Street, Tradd, South Battery, Montagu, Legare, through the French Quarter. An impressive façade beckons you over, its door knocker polished to a beaming brass. Window boxes are lush with color and overflowing with creative plant combinations you wish you had thought of. You catch a glimpse through a window here, an iron gate there, giving you an inkling of what lies beyond. You wish you could go further, see more…
Well, now’s your chance. For 40 years, the Preservation Society has organized and offered this chance for you to experience historic Charleston from an insider’s viewpoint. It’s their primary fundraiser for the day-in, day-out work they do all year long to help keep Charleston so charming.
History does not withstand the pressures of modernization and “progress” without a lot of passionate, hard-working, committed people who understand its relevance and beauty, and do what they can to make sure it endures for future generations. They understand the idea that, “Preservation is Progress.”
The Society is a local partner of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. In many ways Charleston has become a national trailblazer, a shining example of how to preserve our past while making it a vital part of our present.
This year’s Fall Tour of Homes begins this Thursday, October 6th and runs through Sunday, October 30th, when some of the peninsula’s most exclusive properties are open for tours. They’re generally scheduled in three-hour blocks of time, either afternoon or evenings, depending on the property.
This is a beloved annual event, and one of our luxury beach house rentals SC makes an ideal home base. Most of the tours take place downtown (South of Broad), a convenient drive from all our Isle of Palms luxury rentals and our Folly Beach rentals Charleston. That way you can experience the charm and history of America’s best city, while also enjoying the ocean near your beach house Charleston.
