Charleston beach house: A great place to see a Christmas full moon
If you’re booked in a Charleston beach house for the holidays, you’re in for a special celestial treat. It’s something that hasn’t happened since 1977, and it won’t happen again until the year 2034.
The final full moon of the year will fall on Christmas Day.
According to ABC News 4, “Santa’s flight around the globe this Christmas will be particularly well lit thanks to a full moon, not a fabled red-nosed reindeer.”
The moon will be at its peak size at approximately 6:00 a.m. on Christmas morning, just in time for the kids to enjoy when they wake up to check what Santa left for them.

Of course, one of our rental homes South Carolina makes a terrific place to celebrate with family, whether it’s in a luxury house on Isle of Palms or a Folly Beach house Charleston. The weather promises to be extremely mild this year – I’ve heard a forecast of around 81 degrees, possibly record-breakingly warm for the date.
A moonlit Christmas Eve stroll on the beach, or an early Christmas morning walk down the sand, promises to be especially pleasant one this year, and a reminder that being in a Charleston beach house is a gift in and of itself.
Also, here’s a quick holiday recap and follow-up to some previous blogs…
As I covered HERE recently, national gas prices have been dropping to the point that they’ve been flirting with a major price benchmark we haven’t seen since the recession.
Well, it’s official – the national average price per gallon has officially dropped below the $2.00 mark. At $1.99, it’s the lowest price in six years. Here’s more: http://www.postandcourier.com/article/20151221/PC05/151229909
And the news is even better if you’re here in South Carolina or traveling to one of our beach house rentals Charleston SC.
The Palmetto State consistently has among the lowest gas price in the nation, and right now the average price in SC is $1.77.
I have to add this, though – I was just at Costco in West Ashley, and they were selling it for $1.67 a gallon. Pretty cool!
Don’t forget – tonight and tomorrow night, you can catch the very popular and sure-to-be-entertaining touring Broadway musical, ELF, at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. It’s the theatrical musical version of the beloved Will Ferrell movie that’s already become a holiday classic. It’s located at 5001 Coliseum Drive in North Charleston, an easy drive from all our SC vacation rentals, both Isle of Palms luxury rentals and Folly Beach rentals Charleston.
You can still catch one more Nutcracker on Christmas Eve, and it’s a biggie…
This season has had a slew (or should I say a sleigh) of Nutcracker versions, including a hip hop version, as I covered HERE.
There’s one more still ahead, and it’s the biggest of all – the Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker. It’s also taking place at the North Charleston Coliseum and Performing Arts Center. There will be two shows, one at noon and one at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, December 24th.
So Merry Christmas… and enjoy that holiday full moon. And as always, contact Exclusive Properties when you’re looking for the best in luxury beach house rentals SC, especially Isle of Palms vacation rentals.
